Do, First Aid Kit

The first aid kit is an essential part of your equipment, you don't have to pack it like you are expecting war to break out, but a few essentials can't hurt, remember, your first aid kit may not just be for your own use, listed below is what i would generally take along on short day trips,

Plasters (waterproof)

Blister plasters (compeed), A triangular bandage

Crape bandages x2, Gloves

Scissors, Paracetamol

Tape (zinc oxide), Antiseptic cream, sterile wipes

and finally, water purification tablets

This is contained in a small waterproof bag and the use by dates are regularly checked, apart from a first aid course i completed a good few years ago i have no formal first aid training so i only pack what i am confident i can use.

Of course there are kits that can be purchased from outlets such as Boots or Amazon but these can be expensive so remember to get the one that best suits your needs.

just as a foot note, Sun screen is never a bad thing to have in your kit, look out for the trial sizes they are very handy.
